At IDentilam we have seen many changes in the conference & events badging world over the 30 years that we have been trading. Here are 3 trends we have noticed over the past year or so.
- Badges are getting bigger again! In 2017 we saw a shift back to larger format name badges after several years in which credit card size plastic badges were the most popular. Demand is high again for more space on badges for delegate information, event branding and agendas. With the creation of our IDhesive label the larger format badges can print even quicker, particularly when produced with the Epson label printer, with a full colour badges taking only 5 seconds.
- Everyone wants to print badges on arrival. Rather than pre-printing badges in advance, a lot of our clients now prefer to print all their badges as delegates arrive at the venue. Although we don’t think this is always the best option for all events, this is a process that can be managed efficiently using the Scan & Deliver function in our Badge & Track software. Emails can be set up and sent to pre-registered delegates in advance of the event which includes a barcode, then on arrival they can scan their barcode using our handsfree tethered scanners and their badge will be printed.
- Everyone wants reports in real time. 2017 also brought increased demand for real time attendance reporting , we answered this demand by creating our Badge & Track app. The app is a feature of our ComPic Badge & Track software, it will enable you to securely log in, see attendance lists, check people in, capture new photos of delegates onsite and also access real time reporting on a mobile device in bar graph or pie chart format.

What will the future of event badging be? Well who knows for sure! We have several exciting developments in the pipeline but are always keen to hear from our customers to find out what they would like to see developed to make badging faster and easier.
