A must have badging guide for 2015

When it comes to organising a conference or event, lots of preparation and planning ahead is key, and for it to be successful you need to start with the basics. So what’s the first thing that comes to mind when you want to organise an event? Well you can’t have a conference or event without anyone turning up, so attendees and delegates are a must and they need to be identified. In our experience the most reliable and easiest way to do this is to give them all a badge!

By following this quick guide, we’ll share a few inside industry tips and cover some basics of badging that you need to know so your delegate badge production runs smoothly and in a quick and cost effective way, making you a hit with both your attendees and the boss!

Not just a blank piece of paper

You’ve got your theme and venue and have invited all your attendees, but now you need to create your badges. Most badge designs like to show the event and sponsors logos, as well as the person’s name of course. However did you know you can add other categories onto your badge as well? A lot of clients want to identify between a VIP, Guest or Crew members pass and there are a number of ways you can do this, such as different colour lanyards or holders. However for a more professional and tidy image you can add different ‘titles’ onto your badge design, for example DELEGATE or SPEAKER and can even add different colours or images with these titles as well.

Keeping track

How can you tell if someone has turned up to your event or not? Well there’s the long winded process of ticking names off a list when your delegates arrive, or counting how many badges are left over at the end of your event.  But a quicker, more efficient and accurate way for keeping track of your delegates is to Badge & Track them!

IDentilam’s Badge & Track system can operate using both barcode and RFID technology. A unique serial number which is allocated to the individual is encoded to each badge.  This means that when they are scanned at arrival they are either allowed or denied access. A plug-in module which works with both of our badging systems, ComPic and Conference Card Creator, all of which are developed in-house, Badge & Track is an essential tool for conference and event organisers.

Think outside the box

Organizing and storing your delegate badges for your event can be a dilemma, especially when all you want is something convenient and easy to take to your venue with your badges all ready. This is where the must have Conference Card Caddie comes in.

It’s designed to make transporting and distributing delegate badges a stress free process. The brief case style box is easy to carry and made from robust but lightweight plastic. It allows you to store your badges in alphabetical order so you can easily find them when each delegate arrives. The badge trays are also made from a rigid plastic and designed to fit with our badge sizes, so even if the caddie gets slightly knocked in transit, the badges stay in place, and are ready to go when you arrive at the venue.
